Sam’s Throne Overlook is a popular mountain climbing location with stunning views. The trail circles the rim of the bluff line and you can descend to the bottom taking the left trail head. Sam’s Throne Trail This is a really great little hike that offers some opportunites for some easy climbing along the trail.
This trail starts out from the cmapground area and works it’s way along the bluffline and then climbs down to the underside of the bluffs. This trail leads around the foot of the bluffs of Sam's Throne and up a crack in the bluff to a scenic lookout point.
Notably, there are two prominent cracks in the bluff that are climbable. However, the south 'bear crack' is the easiest way to get on top of the throne. The climb is approximately 10 feet and can be treacherous and slippery when 5/5(1). Classic Rock Climbs No.
